Nationwide was looking to take advantage of a new partnership with the NFL and their new spokesman, Peyton Manning, to sell their insurance products.
Building on the ubiquity of the famous brand jingle and guided by the notion that Nationwide is "on your side" wherever you go, we built a storyline that followed Peyton as just another guy who got the jingle stuck in head – no matter where he finds himself.
The Ogilvy campaign generated a tremendous amount of pop culture buzz since its inception. Social media chatter swelled, parodies were created, swag appeared, and Peyton's teammates even got involved by pranking the man himself.
Featured in AdAge, Adage, ESPN, Saturday Night Live, Jeopardy, The Howard Stern Show, Grantland, Sports Illustrated. Nationwide believes these to be the most effective ads in the history of the company.
